Broadreach Marine Ltd and Broadreach Marine (Korea) Co Ltd operate together, sharing recourses globally depending on Project and Customer needs.

Peter Broad is Managing Director of Broadreach Marine Ltd and CEO of Broadreach Marine (Korea) Co Ltd. He is a qualified Chief Engineer and Chartered Marine Engineer, Fellow of IMarEST, Fellow of IIMS and Member of IIRSM and IOSH. He has over 30 years commercial shipping experience, having worked globally at sea, in ship repair, in Superintendency, as a Class Surveyor with Lloyd’s and DNV, and in Ship Building. He is passionate about training and working to share knowledge and experience through bespoke training courses and sponsoring R & D Projects.

‘I am proud of the heritage of Broadreach Marine and having worked with so many excellent professionals within this industry over the years. We moved the company forward in 2017 with the opening of our new office in South Korea and now, in 2018, we launch this new web site. We look forward to working with our established customers and partners as well as building new business through 2018.’

Gerry Duggan - Experienced Project Manager / Site Manager.

Working mainly on LNG’s (NO96 & Mk III) and Tanker Plan Approval, New Build projects and Refits in USA, UAE, Korea and China. Lead Coatings Manager for multiple global projects with over 35 years Industrial, Marine and Offshore industry experience. HSE Manager and Lead Quality Auditor for sub-contractors and vendor selection processes.

 

 

 

Ronald van Riet - Experienced Chief Engineer and Systems Engineer working in ship operations, new building and marine surveying.

Over 30 years Engineering Management and Shipyard experience, Plan Approval; Propulsion and Cargo Machinery & Instrumentation on board outfitting and commissioning. Hull & Outfitting newbuild supervision. 

Marine Systems, design, integration, installation and operations LNGC’s propulsion systems including DFDE & MEGI (NO96 & Mk III Cargo Systems). Newbuilding and conversions in shipyards in Korea, China & Singapore. Auditor for sub-contractors and vendor selection processes. Surveyor for International Shipbrokers, condition surveys and pre-purchase surveys.

 

Sang-Hyun Lee - Experienced Office Administrator and Quality Manager.

Ten years working in the marine industry as Site Team Administrator for document control, site office management, accountancy and procurement. Managing Office Quality Systems and HSE Procedures. Experienced networking for office resourcing and recruitment for ex-pats and local staff in Korea. Experienced working in all the major shipyards in South Korea. Fluent in both written and spoken English and Korean.
 

 

 

Sandra Grimes - Business Consultant 

11 years as a senior Business Support Specialist in the UK Business Development team at Lloyd's Register, based in the Head Offices in London and Southampton. Expertise in Salesforce customer relationship software development and staff training, company research, data management and sales team coordination.

Broad commercial background in marketing services management and as an account manager in commercial printing and mail order companies.

Native tongue English, fluent French and some Spanish and Italian. 

 

Jerry Ridgeon - Technical Consultant 

Jerry has over 44 years in the marine industry, gaining a wealth of knowledge and experience! Working both at sea and shore, being a Chief Engineer for 20 years onboard takers, gas ships, bulkers, ro-ro/lo-lo/containers, freezer and general cargo.

Ship new building for over 13 years, as Site Manager, building VLCC's VLGC's, Bulkers and LEGC's. Worked all over the World, including shipyards in Korea & China. Ship condition surveying, for chartering, purchase and PSC / Oil Major Inspections.

Various other Marine Surveying activities for Owners and Charterers – Condition surveys/Pre-purchase etc. Technical Authoring, Advisor and Technical Consultancy work. Having worked with many Nationalities, at sea and in various countries, Jerry has a strong understanding of different cultures, attitudes and skill levels, which directly impact the work at hand.

He values hard work, and the need for team work, as well as individual independence, to make a success of the job in hand. He enjoys a new challenge and achieving something new. ‘Anything is possible, if you make the effort to learn and understand.’

 

Hayden Ballard - Technical Consultant

Former Merchant Marine Deck Officer working on new-build heavy industry projects; both Marine and Offshore. 

Hayden has considerable marine heavy industry experience as a Project HSE Management professional from Management System development, implementation and plan execution for major projects. 

 New build supervision includes HSE constructability, HAZID facilitation and all facets of the risk assessment process from Heavy/Critical lifts to Commissioning Execution.
