August activity - Ship Repair Project Management

Under exceedingly difficult circumstances for both the ship and the company, Broadreach Marine weas approached by Mr Bud Hall, Fleet Technical Manager, of Schuyler Line Navigational Co., Annapolis, USA. Our team was requested to provide Superintendency Services for the emergency refit and repairs of their vessel at Orient Shipyard, Busan, South Korea.

We spent 24 days working at Orient Shipyard for the Project Management of repairs on engine room structure as a result of the catastrophic failure of No. 1 Auxiliary Engine.
Mr Bud Hall kindly provided us with feedback about our service delivery:

‘The service delivery by BRM was above and beyond our expectations, having Peter take the lead on the ‘Project’ was key to the success and completion of repairs in good time.
Peter’s skill set and experience as a project manager and surveyor was invaluable throughout.  He was the face to face contact between third parties and the ship acting for and on behalf of SLNC

All work was completed to the highest standards at all times.

Peter created a presentation of the progress of the repair, this was an outstanding report for our senior management to have an idea on what occurred during the duration of the repairs.

We are already planning for the installation of the replacement engine with Peter’s involvement.

I am not really sure where we would have ended up without him.

His support, management, and leadership at a very delicate time for us was invaluable.

This is the first time I have ever given a 100% score in feedback, thanks for all your help Peter and team, we really appreciate it.’

Thank you to Bud for providing this positive feedback and we look forward to working with him and Schuyler Line Navigational Co. again soon.

Also, thank you to Orient Shipyard, Busan and their sub-contractors for providing professional ship repair services in a timely manner and reasonable prices for the un-planned work scope that we achieved together for SLNC.
